ThE coach and friends win Relay at Muskoka 70.3

0079_12202 #10060079_09661 #10060079_19896 #1006

The weather was perfect to challenge this course and all of the competitors this year. Doug Vanderby (swimmer in the yellow cap) Brent Aquino (Bike) and Carolyn (runner), all came together to win the relay.

Doug did a fantastic job in the swim with a 27min swim, then me (Brent) rode strong 2:24, and Carolyn finished the relay with a superb run 1:32. Our overall time was 4:28, which put us fifth overall in the pro men. Not bad for us older athletes.

Doug was the 10th fastest swim

Brent was the 3rd fasted bike

Carolyn was the 2nd fastest runner

We where really happy to wear the colors and be representing Team Merrill. All 3 of us appreciate how Helen Butt (Merrill) supported us and stayed positive by encouraging and cheering us to victory.

Thank You to "Merrill (barefoot) for all of your support and kindness this past weekend.

Way to go Eva!!!!

This past weekend, the Muskoka long course Tri was a success. The weather was perfect, the bike course was in good condition and the running course was very well laid out and challenging. The swim was a challenging winding course against a current.

  Eva MARLOW Markham ON CAN 177 4:22:28.4 F40-44 11/18   11 226 48:55 2:27 2 128 1:53:36 29.0 14 250 1:35:13 7:20 2:24 2:22

Once in the water Eva found her stroke and swam through the current with long smooth strokes, thats the way to do it!!!

Once on the bike she flew pedaling strong and with great ease Eva finished 2nd in her age group by the smallest of margins, it was a fantastic ride!!!!

The goal of the run was to finish well and run strong throughout which she did, her training and positive outlook was the key to finishing this course. When it was all said and done, Eva completed her first Long placing 11/18 in her age group and giving herself the motivation and confidents to push forward for the Muskoka half later in this year in September.

Well done Eva :):):)
